Menaggio is a charming town of about 3,200 inhabitants, jutting out into the middle of Lake Como, at the opening of a valley which connects it to Lake Lugano through mountainous terrain. Its particular geographical position and the beauty of the town have always made it a favourite holiday destination for those who decide to holiday on the lake. For this reason, Menaggio boasts a long tradition of hospitality: luxurious villas and grand hotels began to flourish in the 19th century, such as the Grand Hotel Victoria, which now overlook the lake and the town’s streets, helping to give the town its unique and pleasantly old-fashioned atmosphere.
Menaggio is divided into three districts: Croce, Laveno and Nobiallo – the latter is situated right on the lake. It is easily accessible by car and ferry. Perched between the mountains and the lake, it is the ideal point of departure for delightful boat trips or excursions that bring you into contact with nature. In the historical part there are different important monuments and the elegant promenade along the lake offers incredible panoramas.
