The Greenway of Lake Como is a natural and cultural route that winds for 10km and runs through Colonno, Sala Comacina, Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo and Griante – passing not only along the lake, but also for the historic villages and the prestigious villas on Lake Como.

The signs of the Greenway are well marked and allow you to take either the entire walk (about 3 hours) or or individual five sections.

1: COLONNO – SALA COMACINA
In this first section you step in via Cappella until the historical center of Colonno; exceeded the square you will cross the bridge over the river Pessetta, brought near the Vecchia Regina with terraced plots and beautiful olive groves and you will reach Sala Comacina coming to San Rocco’s chapel.

2: SALA COMACINA – OSSUCCIO
In this part you can go into the Vecchia Regina with the amazing views of Isola Comacina. You will enter the town of Ossuccio and admire the Church of St. Giacomo, the sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso, the bell tower of S.M. Maddalena.

3: OSSUCCIO – LENNO
Passing the bridge you will come to Campo di Lenno and you will find Villa Monastero, reaching the Hotel Lavedo. From here, you can decide whether to divert to the majestic Villa Balbianello or continue the Greenway to the Lido di Lenno: worth noting the square, the church of St. Stefano and the Baptistery of St. Giovanni.

4: LENNO – TREMEZZO
From the port, you will climb in the small Mezzegra and then you will go down at the municipaly of Tremezzo. Along the way you will find the churches of S. Giuseppe and S. Abbondio and a splendid view over the promontory of Bellagio. Then you will pass the historic Palazzo Brentano in Bonzanigo and you’ll land in Bolvedro also crossing the highway.

5: TREMEZZO – GRIANTE
The final part of the Greenway Greenway is totally along the lake: from here you will observe the villas La Quiete and Mayer, and will pass through the Imbarcadero of Tremezzo. From the historic center we recommend you to visit the majestic Villa Carlotta and a walk to the lido. Here ends the Greenwaybut you can always trek up to the wonderful Menaggio.
